Erudite Digital is New Mexico’s leader in HD Digital Cinema technology. We are a moving image studio, which means we can conceive, create and deliver a finished motion picture project in house. We own and operate high end HD digital cinema cameras and post production equipment giving you the highest quality product. These cameras are the HD equivalent to 35mm film cameras. We make our money off of our equipment with no additional mark up, allowing us to save you at least 30% on all your production needs.

- BIOGRAPHY -

Erudite Digital is a home grown New Mexico multimedia company. Stephen Bloch, Founder, started in the film industry 11 years ago. As a student from the College of Santa Fe motion picture department, which they cleverly entitle Moving Image Arts; Stephen worked on his first movies as a PA. (Production Assistant is a servant to anyone working on a movie set looking to get a job done) These movies include: Stair Case, Sound Man, Hi Lo Country, Wild Wild West, Tao of Steve, and All the Pretty Horses. From time to time, movies would occasionally shoot in NM, taking advantage of our vast landscapes and cheap labor. Before the current tax incentives were in place, it was too expensive for movies to film in NM. As result, we did not have continuous work, unlike the film environment that we take advantage of today which provides 15 million in 0% financing and a 25% tax rebate. These great incentives are responsible for the current outbreak of productions in the state. Stephen quickly realized that films in New Mexico were not created by New Mexicans, but rather imports from Hollywood with 0 commitments to its economy or its people. This was the catalyst for the creation of Erudite Digital to make that change.

After graduating from the College of Santa Fe in 2001, Stephen called his cousin, Aaron Lieber, Founder, who at that time was a news camera operator and an Advertising major/business minor at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He told Aaron that now is the time to build an HD multimedia company who owns and operates its assets. Together we believed that in order to have a sustainable motion picture industry in New Mexico, we must have companies organized here by New Mexicans who love the state and its people. This is why Erudite Digital incorporated on November 1st 2002. Through years of work at CNM’s small business development center, we developed a viable business plan through the efforts of Ray Garcia and Bob Gramley, which was marketable to SBA lending institutions. Finally on April 15, 2005, Erudite Digital received a small business administration guaranteed loan provided by CIT, allowing Erudite Digital to open its doors to the public for the first time.
